Snow day after the ISPO

Snow day after the ISPO

After 4 days of working at the Tradeshow, I was happy to have a day to enjoy the Swiss Alps and the fresh powder with my friends. The conditions could not have been better: Fresh powder, blue skies, minimal crowds and a mind blowing back country powder run.

It took quite a bit of walking to get to the next peak near by and for a surfer who is used to sea level air like me the hike in 2000m was quite breath taking (literally). The pay off was breath taking as well even now that I found my breath again after the hike.

First line privilege

I was pretty stoked, being the guest from Hawaii I had the privilege of the first line. It was an insane feeling after 5 years to be back in the snow, back to my roots. Drawing a 200m bottom turn into the untouched powder between the cliffs was as good as it gets. (Besides getting barreled) We charged several different runs all day long until we were exhausted and our thighs were burning. The “Schümlipflümli” we had before the last run gave us the last kick before heading down to the car riding another 5 miles of powder.
